Awesome movie! 6.9? Should be 8.9!
It's a good thing I'm easily entertained. This is one of the best movies I've seen in a while that didn't take itself so darn seriously. I loved the campy, tongue-in-cheek, making-fun-of-their-own-selves, hilarity that was never inane and always entertaining. One can argue that the movie constantly borrowed cliches from so many other movies, but it was done with that devil-may-care attitude that refused to let up.
Now I want to see the first two in the series. No wonder I kept getting the feeling that I was missing out on some inside jokes.

Ever hear of satire? How about parody? The librarian movies were a take off on the classic Saturday afternoon matinee heroes from Alan Quartermain up to Indiana Jones.
shareWhat I enjoyed about this film is that the script and dialogue were very creative, the plot lines were extremely fantastic and magical, but in a way that can be appreciated by the modern person (doesn't need to have castles and does have bathrooms!) and is able to keep me entertained without boredom. Plus,..its kind of cool to see the geek win out every once in a while.

I'm not much of a critic and a lot of movies, even bad ones, will entertain me. But I really hate this movie. The leading character, the story and some scenes are just so bad. I have to say that it's not the worst I've seen, but I think it's still pretty bad. I hate it.
