Is this the last one???

The commercials kept saying that this is the final chapter. Does that mean that there will not be any more???

reply

Well, if you notice in the commercials, the voice-over guy says, "The final chapter begins." This may leave it open to another movie if this one is well received.

reply

If you watched it tonight, Bob Newhart says something about Noah Wyle soon playing an even bigger part in the fight against good and evil than just going around collecting relics.

reply

I hope this isn't the last one, because while they're not amazing, I'd like to see Noah Wyle's character end up happy with some leading lady that isn't a doomed vampire. I was thinking that perhaps he'd take over Bob Newhart's job at the library, and become immortal like he is. We don't even know what Judson is yet, but Flynn did say he was over 2000 years old. I think they left it open.

"You are exactly my brand of heroin."

Thanks for the spoilers warning, Isolde.

It's not a spoiler after it's aired, it's like expected people to not talk about darth vader being lukes father on a starwars board 30 years after the fact the movie was released.

reply

You just ruined Star Wars for me. LOL

reply

no like this, starwars not like, we have new/good technology, i thing :)

Dumb ass!

reply

Hey, the review page (user comments section) is one thing; viewers go there to decide if they want to see the movie, so discretion (or a spoiler alert) is required. But this is the forums (message boards), where people come to discuss the movie, so it's naturally assumed you've seen it already (how else can you discuss it). If you haven't seen it and still come here to read the discussions, then you're the dumbass.

reply

Uhm...either that or we go to the forums to see if people liked the movie and if it is worth seeing...

Next time try thinking before you speak...especially if you're calling people "dumbass".

And, as for spoilers being ok after the movie is released,...it is VERY easy to put at the front of a spoiler *SPOILER* to warn people who haven't seen it yet.

reply

"either that or we go to the forums to see if people liked the movie and if it is worth seeing"

Then you're coming to the wrong place. As I already said in the previous post, if you bothered to read it properly, if you haven't seen a movie and you'd like to see if it's worth seeing, you go to the USER COMMENTS section; there, a spoiler is required. If you've already seen the movie, and you want to discuss it or read discussions on it, you come HERE to the discussion forums. No spoilers required; you have to see a movie to discuss it. Now run along.

reply

Lol cine-11! You say "Now run along" like you won some kind of debate. I did not go to the wrong place to see if people liked this film. In fact, the forums is the perfect place to find out if the film had a positive reaction in people.

And, I did bother to read your previous post. I just find what you have to say useless in this conversation. As I stated before, it is VERY easy to simply type *SPOILER* before a spoiler to warn people who have not seen it. Others have done it in the forums in the past, and I always appreciate it.

I can overlook the one that originally did it as an error. No one is perfect, as you have proven here, however, for you to say that I made an error in coming to the forums looking for user reactions, or that spoilers should be expected in the forums is just...well....stupid.

Now...run along.

reply

If you obstinately want to keep coming here to the forums BEFORE you see a movie, expecting people to write ‘spoiler’ when they aren’t going to because they know it’s unnecessary, as this is a place where people discuss the movie AFTER they see it, you go right ahead. It’ll be me who will be ‘laughing out loud’ as all the movies you plan to see are ruined.

reply

Pretty much every post on every thread contains some kind of spoiler. Do you want them ALL labeled as such?

reply

Well...agree with you rickathedj...but there is a difference between someone saying "I totally didn't see the surprise ending in Sixth Sense coming!" and someone saying *spoiler* "I can't believe Bruce Willis was dead that whole time in Sixth Sense!" */spoiler*

See how easy it was for me to warn readers about a spoiler Cine-11?

reply

The place that is usually more suited for checking out what other people thought about a certain movie would be http://www.rottentomatoes.com/, not IMDb forums.

I hate it when people b & moan about spoilers, when the reality is that, they themselves came to the wrong place.

reply

I actually haven't seen this movie yet and I wanted to know if it would be the last one...he just ruined the whole thing for me!!!!

reply

OH YEAH!

OH YEAH SISTER!??

“I hope it is not the last,” Wyle says. “I think saying it is the last movie was more of a marketing decision.” http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ent/tv/6147845.html

"The Curse of the Judas Chalice" is the last movie in the series scheduled to be produced by TNT. Newhart hopes the next film will be a theatrical release.
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/television/2008469671_tvnewhart05.html

Future possibilities for the Carsen character sprawl beyond basic cable. Wyle said an animated series is a possibility. Devlin said a feature film could continue the saga.

"I don't know if we'll do any more movies of the week," Devlin said. "I think we've kind of played out the trilogy. But if the audience shows up and supports this one as they did parts one and two, I think there's a very good chance we could try to make a feature film out of it.

"Each time we've done one of these we've tried to top the (previous installment), and I think we have. Each one is bigger than the previous one, more adventurous, and begins to define itself more. If this one works, then we really are hoping to take it up a whole other level."

yes, there has been some serious talk about a Big Budget feature film released to theaters (Noah said he would be all for that and Dean Devlin said he'd love to see it). I don't think we've seen the last of the Librarian...

I'd love it if a Librarian movie got a theatrical release.

I'll think of you if I don't forget.

People it all comes down to ratings and money! I checked neilsen and it did quite well (in cable top 10 for week). Good ratings mean the advertising should sell pretty well on a new one, thus leading to Noah getting a decent paycheck. Taking into consideration IMDB doesn't list a whole lot of work for him since ER, logic dictates we will see another soon! I surmise they can film these pretty quickly.

I like the series. Have watched them on DVD, hope they make more, it is a fun idea. Would be silly for a big screen release as too much to explain to newbies - boring for fans.

More TV movies, (straight to DVD's) that are fun and well written would be lovely!!!

reply

i agree that there would be to much to explain to newbies. Also, they can't make the 4th a big budget movie and expect to make their money back. It works well how it is,and i hope they keep it that way.

The movies are entertaining and that is it.

from the start it was always described as a trilogy (or so they always said in the trailers). But I hope there might be a 4th one.

reply

I hope they make a few more. I love these things. While not Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, they're a lot better constructed than what normally passes for "quality" television these days. Remind me of the old 80's and 90's adventures like Remington Steele, Macguyver, and the such...except with better special effects.

This series, along with Tom Selleck's Jesse Stone, has me tuning in each and every time.
