Precursor to warehouse 13?

6/21/2014 and TNT is running all three movies. I remember seeing the first when it first aired and It seemed it was the pilot to a new series for TV that never took off. I kind of forgot about aside from the occasional "I wonder what ever happened...?"
I was pleased to see they at least made a trilogy of movies.
I can not help but think as I watch these that they may have been instrumental in the creation of the warehouse 13 series.
Thoughts?

You may be right, even if it was unintentional. I love the movies, and the Warehouse show. Room for both.

You may be right. There is a strong storyline resemblance. Both tongue-in-cheek. Both seeking artifacts. Both have a supernatural component. I enjoyed both.

It could be a possible influence but the 90's for instance was full of many shows where the concept was a team of people track down strange artifacts. Also the show was clearly influenced by the ending of Raiders of the lost ark.
