So I have started watching this show...

I'm on the first episode and it's already messing with me. It seems wholesome and great the way these parents raise their kids but watching their oldest, newlywed son interact with his wife is really creepy to me. He seems like a 5 year old trapped in the body of a 20 year old.

I'm gonna keep watching and give it a chance just because of the way these people live but dang.....

Yeah, I have never been a big "reality" TV fan at all. This was on my recommended on Hulu and I thought it looked decent and not like all those other horrible shows, Ugh. But I started the second episode and I just couldn't finish it. Way too creepy and reaffirming my resistance to stupid reality tv.

It becomes creepier.

The parents are major control freaks. The parents disapprove of church attendance (not strict enough?) and the mother was upset about the toothpaste brand her daughter-in-law used. They don't want the oldest son and his wife around the younger children because they consider them a bad influence. Seriously, the parents are like a cult. If you don't live and think exactly the way they want, then the children can't associate with you even if you're a family member.

The oldest son appears immature, but it's a miracle he's sane growing up so isolated and smothered. Apparently, the oldest son's wife came from a similar family. Very scary what's going on in "middle America".

Ugh, I am so glad I didn't watch beyond the 2nd episode.

I'm hooked! I just started the 2nd season. The parents are nuts, but even the youngest kids appear self-confident, physically healthy and well-spoken. I think the kids are exaggerating their ignorance since one knew how to do Michael Jackson's Moonwalk.
