Security

Watching this film, I just assumed that the Tony Blair figure would be guarded by security staff he's privately hired himself. In reality, they would be police officers paid for by the British public:

As was Thatcher. In fact, her funeral and associated security expenses were paid for by the state, when she had done nothing but deride and dismantle it.

reply

Lady Thatcher did more to ensure the survival of Britain than any other statesman since Churchill. It's only bitter old lefties who think otherwise.

reply

Again you fail to respond to my actual statement. Lol and Churchill was such a good PM that he was immediately voted out after WW2 and replaced with a real statesman.

reply

Your statement deserves only contempt, particularly once one considers that the public's response to a taste of Atlee's collectivisation policies was 13 years of unbroken Conservative government.

reply

lol pathetic response. Over 30 years only amounts to a "taste"? And an election with an SDP split and a convenient war to raise jingoistic sentiment with the public. And Thatcher left such a bitter taste that proceeding her we had a decade of Blair and Labour.
