Okay I realize I am asking a bit much from a movie filled with ridiculous plot points and is dumb every step of the way, but she bashed his brain in with that bat. Neegan would have been proud of the beatdown she gave him. There is no way he should have lived through that.
Also, Ashtray Bitch, might be the funniest line in a movie this year.

I stupidly came to this board halfway through just to see if there was any activity and had a big piece of the end revealed just by your subject (if it was a better movie I'd have been more upset lol).
In answer to your question I have a theory that may explain it (other than the overall cruddiness of the film that is). When we see the beat down, it's from her recollection and point of view of the event. It's possible since she's peaceful by nature and horrified by her actions, that in her mind she hit him harder and more brutally than she actually did. And while she busted him open and caused significant bruising, she didn't actually hit him hard enough to fracture his skull.
EDIT TO ADD: and yeah I laughed out loud when he said "Ashtray bitch!"
