Best movie I've seen in a long while
Nobody casts a surreal, beautiful spell like Claire Denis. Haunting imagery, heartbreaking tone, elegantly acted by the cast. Hubbert is a revelation, and Lambert hasn't been this good since the Greystoke/Subway days... I love their scene when he tenderly caresses her while calling her crazy, and you can tell 1) why he left her, and 2) that he still loves her; she mostly just hates him but creates a semblance of loyalty for the sake of their son...brilliant chemistry between those two. I love the ebb and flow to the picture, the way it weaves back and forth to different points in the story, eschewing traditional narrative in favor of building up the emotional obsession of the characters. Wow... glad I watched this.
