Which 'doll' actor was most versatile?

Playing multiple parts in the same show was always going to be challenging, and I think the 4 main 'doll' actors (Eliza Dushku as Echo, Dichen Lachman as Sierra, Enver Gjokaj as Victor and Miracle Laurie as November) all did pretty well. Of the four, who do you think carried it off most successfully?

Of course, as the lead actress with the most imprints and most screentime, Dushku had the most difficult job. For me, she's very good at portraying Caroline, Echo, and several of the 'tough' or 'seductive' roles, but isn't a flexible enough actress to portray all the imprints as distinct from each other. Therefore, some of them blur together.

Similarly, Lachman performs well but with a limited range. In her case it shows a lot less because hers is a supporting role with fewer imprints and less screentime. Laurie has a significantly smaller part than either of them, though Mellie and Madeleine do work as separate characters. Overall, in my opinion, Gjokaj stood out as the actor most able to play each of his imprints as different characters. Even those who were on screen for a very short period (e.g. the art critic) are noticeably different from the others.

You don’t have to be angry to have an opinion worth hearing.

Victor easily was the most versatile actor of the whole show.

Can't stop the signal.

Second vote for Enver Gjokaj. I thought his Topher Brink was spot on.

third vote for Victor. Kiki. Absolutely brilliant.

Fourth. Glad to see him on agent Carter

I'm going with Dichen Lachman as Sierra. Okay, biased by the fact that I loved her in "Last Resort" and that she has this Nepalese/Australian look going on. Joss does not give her enough exposure imho but she is so kick ass that I hope she will get opportunities in the future to just turn ninja and well, kick ass.

reply

You've seen her in 'The 100' I take it? She gets some 'ninja on' there.

reply

Enver Definitely . Great Actor.

reply

Definitely Enver. Not only did he inject a different aspect to pretty much ALL of his imprints, but his Topher had me smiling all throughout his scenes. Ffs, it was like Fran Kranz had posssesed him or something. Absolutely jaw-dropping and brilliant work on his part, and am so glad to see him in Agent Carter as someone else said, which is a great show :)

Get outa here! Alan Tudyk for real acting took the prize. Tell me he did not take you off guard. And Sam Sheppard is great at everything he does.
Okay, for all you Topher fans, he was great fun throughout but I am amazed at so many good performances. Only Joss could pull off a cast like this.

While I say Victor, when Alan was outted as Alpha I was blown away. I didn't call it at all.

reply

I also agree with Victor as the stand-out performer...but I gotta Whiskey a special mention for her performance as Clyde. She exuded a really powerful menacing masculine aura. Though I suppose it's pretty easy for Amy Acker considering her experience as Illyria in Angel.

reply

I was most impressed by Enver Gjokaj. He brought a humanity to all of his imprints. (I'm discounting mimicking, because I think that's easy & basic for an actor).

I have no recollection of 'November' or the actress in the show.

November was introduced as Paul's next door neighbor, Millie. She was played by Miracle Laurie.

Eliza Dushku, Enver Gjokaj, and Dichen Lachman all did wonderful jobs as various imprints. Enver was the best of the three because I loved him when he was doing his take of Topher.
