why the hell did they cast Alan Tudyk as Alpha? He's uglier than the east end of a horse headed west.
I never really thought that Alan Tudyk was ugly. He's attractive in his own way. Really loved him as Wash in Firefly/Serenity and Alpha in Dollhouse. It depends on a person's tastes on what they find attractive in another person.

I first saw Dichen Lachman in Being Human (US), and I have to say the blond hair she sports here as Sierra really washes her out. I thought she looked much better with darker hair. She is a very beautiful woman!
I never thought about it until just now, but I'm surprised the dollhouse didn't change anyone's hair. They maintained the basic color and length the dolls preferred when they arrived.

I think its pretty subjective. However, Carl Craft was in prison for attempted murder. He was given to Rossum to experiment with. There was probably not many options and they took whatever was given.
