I don't remember the episode but it was late in the season and Dushku character suddenly out of nowhere started praising Obama. I was like WTF and that was it. F Whedon and F anyone who inserts specific politics into TV shows or movies.

Ha ha ha. No, that didn't happen. All that was mentioned was that there was a black president. Which is very cool.

I don't remember Obama being mentioned at all, but then again, it's been a long time since I watched the show.

Preach Caleb is right. I just rewatched the series. Echo merely informed the woman Alpha had imprinted with Caroline that there was a black President, and the latter was pleasantly surprised.

Isn't it racist to declare someone who's 50/50 black and white as black? If he said he is white, there'd be outrage. As far as I'm concerned, he's the first bi-racial president.

I can clear that up for you: there's no such thing as "race."

It's a social construct.

Accordingly, if Obama says he's "black," and society says he's "black," then yeah. . .he's "black."

Take careful note of the quotes.
