It's about sticking it to the 'man' isn't it?
I didn't think i'd enjoy this film but I did. I was feeling kinda low key and mellow when I saw it (not stoned though). The people the protagonist meets are jilted jaded bohemians (artistic types), references are made to them throughout the film. *beep* Bill Murray is 'The Man', a la School of Rock. He sees the world in black and white, objectively. I wonder if J Jarmusch made this film even more pretentious in case 'the man' visited his local cinema to see what he'd been missing. I've never enjoyed watching someone order two espressos in separate cups so much.
