Polka dot material?

Apologies if this has been answered but what was the significance of the polka dot clothing / material that many characters wore /had??

The nude had a spotty scarf in her bag, the mexican had some spotty material on his sleave, the flemenco lady was covered in them as was the chinese lady. Probably more but i can't remember now.

I noticed them too and the polka dots are clearly significant. I don't have an answer to your question. They reminded me of the molecules spoke about by the 'molecules' lady on the train. She says each one of us is a set of shifting molecules, spinning in ecstacy and that really reminds me of the flamenco dancer.

The universe has no centre and no edges. Reality is arbitrary.
