A perfectly structured film

This was a perfectly structured, beautiful, VISUAL piece of filmmaking. It baffles me and pisses me off how so many people didn't understand it. It was all there for you on the screen.

yea the sound was key, the helicopters, the matchbooks, great stuff.

Pure artistic terrorism. Jamrusch has reached something great

Shhht :)
I agree, Jarmusch is leading a new direction. But we don't want the feds to know!

finally someone agrees with me i saw this last night and loved it and thought the visuals, sound, structure, acting, and pacing were all spot on i absolutely love this film i think i might like it even more than Broken Flowers.

reply

yea its hard to say, i loved broken flowers too. I saw both in the theater and all I can say is that Jarmusch is hypnotic.

reply

It didn't feel like two hours were spent watching it. It's like you don't notice time passing.

it's a damn masterpiece. pisses me off too

i gotta say this one bears watching with your FULL ATTENTION. if one doesn't have the discipline to do that, its impact will lessen.

i think the blending of the cam work and music and timing/paging and even of the actors' movements (as well as symbolisms/clues you mentioned) are all expertly woven together. like a great cinematic symphony

just thinking, this reminds me a little of el mariachi, in the style of filming and the moodiness of it. (long lapses of silence)

no biggie, just wanted to add that

Yes, to feel this film, you have to be willing to take the trip.
This film requires presence of mind.

It is NOT entertainment, but experiential cinema.

talking about this one with my friend today. made me remember it and the diff scenes etc

interesting how the perception and images from it age like wine.

this film is more like an experience than a regular movie story. it makes me wanna enter the world in the screen and live there.

just a damn good film
