Second viewing is the key !!

I watched this movie 2 years ago because of the great cast and decent 6+ rating but got bored to hell !! I hated it and rated it a 2 out of 10 then.

Lately, I had this incredible urge of seeing the movie again. This time, unlike my previous experience, I was not hoping and waiting for some twist or some action. And I loved it. The second time, you'd appreciate the movie for its atmosphere, the mood and visually beautiful cinematography without caring much about the plot.

This second viewing thing applies (does to me) for most of JM's films like "Coffee and Cigarettes" and all.

I rated it 7 this time.

Hi there, I don't blame you for not liking this movie, you are even part of the majority here.

But yes, I loved Melancholia, and I find it one of the most beautiful movies ever and esp. camera work !! I personally think you should stay away from movies by directors like Lars Von Triers, Jarmusch and all. Stick to your action genre for a while to save all this disappointment.
