My 2 cents

I got a lot of joy seeing the main 6 together on the sets, however, it hit different as you realize they're just people with different lives and nothing you see in the show applies to them. The familiarity is there but also, the distance between them is there too.
Matthew Perry for one seems changed the most - I guess being near death so many times will do that to a person. But when he did interviews between '94 and 2004, he was a bit Chandler-like.
I noticed that I can 'get' these people from interviews and 'feel' a bit of who they are.
Jennifer Aniston after the whole media frenzy with Brangelina, changed her demeanor in interwiews - she's only talking about nice, beautiful things but basically saying nothing. I suppose that's to be expected after being hounded by paparazzi for years.
Schwimmer feels like a very serious person, smart yet a bit arrogant and dismissive. He played the role of a friendly Schwimmer in this interview, im sure of it.
Lisa Kudrow does feel as a very cerebral person who's also very private - I feel like she's the best actor of the group cause she's nothing like Phoebe, except for the laugh.
Courteney Cox - she applies the same strategy as Aniston and talks a lot without saying anything. Changed a lot from the interviews she gave while the show aired.
Matt LeBlanc is the best. He was the only one who was pretty much open and living in the moment, trying to make the others remember stuff, he was pretty much an open book here.
But...
The biggest issue with the reunion remains.
First rule of Friends? Shouldve been:
Let the people who made Friends make the reunion. They deserve it.

New director, writers so on... no one seemed to care that Justin Bieber had nothing to do with the show. David Beckham, I know he's friends with Cox but... why??
Whats Cara Delevigne, Jon Snow and others doing here? Go home.
Also, we already know the impact the show had over people because we are the people who still watch the show and we're already all over the world. There's no need to show us other fans.
Wouldve been much more watchable if the 6 were în the apartment and talked to eachother for the whole duration. James Corden tried to do a good job but the whole show feels forced and fails.
Friends was funny. The reunion not so much, no.

Yeah i definitely felt the vibe that they don't ever see each other or speak when they were all asked they got shifty and then they were on about having a group dinner together.

In Perry's book he say's the whole eating together and hanging out was a strategy given to them in order to create that closeness but in truth they were always just Actors doing whatever was necessary at that given moment.

Le Blanc does come off the best maybe because he knew his limitations and was just happy go lucky that he got the part at all and very grateful. The others seem way more ambitious and if truth be told probably looked down on Friends past a certain point.

It did bug me a little bit when Le Blanc would say remember this remember that and they never did it makes them look phony

I have always suspected Cox is quite a bit older than stated she was around for quite a few years before Friends and even though it looks like bad surgery i suspect shes ancient

Perry looked absolutely terrible 20 years older than he should and even his voice quivered and even though i thought he came off arrogant in his book you can't help feeling some sympathy for him he clearly has/had a lot of pain

My take is that I thought this was going to be an actual reunion type of episode like they did with SEINFELD on Curb Your Enthusiasm and instead, we get treated to the actors reminiscing about old times on the set and if that was the hook to subscribe to MAX, then what a letdown

What's interesting is that some of them actually do hangout together. Women. They often post pictures. So they do spent time then and then. Yet still were strangers in reunion.

Truth is that they were coworkers who smiled and pretended to be buddies while working together. Then went their own ways once show is over. Male cast don't hang out with anyone it seems. Jennifer, Lisa and Courteney can meet sometimes.

It happens with most of the shows. They are all just pretending to be friends and having fun time while promoting show. Actors of Lost, Heroes, Buffy, Game of Thrones etc dont hang out once it over.

Friends cast were never actual "Friends". So that's why when they all met again - they didn't know what to talk about. There should have been TV host like Corban, Kimmell, Fallon, Northon or any other who would glue conversation and ask questions. Corban was in interview bit. But when they were on set - there were alone.

When I read Perry's book I was surprised how little he spoke of show. He had no fun stories, nothing. Feels like there were simply none to tell. They showed up for work, for interviews and then went home to mind their own stuff.

Nah, they were friends, just not the kind of close friends we see in the show. They were close when they met in different occasions but each to their own lives afterwards.
