Paul,

Ya, she's dark skinned but that doesn't mean she's African-American. To me, she comes off as Caribbean, Jamaican, or a mixed of Puerto-Rican in a way. I mean, look at her eyes -- compared to stereotypical facial features of Blacks!

You must be the type to think all Blacks are the same? FYI, Blacks are one of the most diverse racial groups! Spending time with various people of African-descent, they are a lot of various ethnic mixture. Perhaps you need to stop being stupid and get out more.

I know she's Black dumbass.

And you're totally missing the point!

Of course, she's of Negroid ancestry coming from Africa -- but that's not the point!

I was just curious if she had other ethnic heritage beside Black -- besides she doesn't look full Black to me. If she mixed with another ethnic?

Talking *beep* Perhaps you need to stop being so ignorant. Blacks and African-American are synonymous with each other.

Wow, the person who cusses a lot and call people names is accusing me of being an Internet "tough bitch"??? I never call people name -- until you came along with your post. Not once have I put people down in my post until you came. So take that "weak" mindset of yours and preach it to yourself!

Besides, this post was just about curiosity and wondering about her cultural background. Nothing wrong with that.

It started off as a neutral post and then your smart ass came with "She's Black, stupid!"

I'm Black and I don't mind kicking your scrawny White ass. And I've beat up a lot of them in real-life in the past. You want to say it to my face??? Where are you from then?

Prom, I wouldn't bother arguing with this PaulNewmanFan. He/she is clearly the one who is bothered by race. You were simply curious and he/she jumped down your throat.

But Lisa is not "black" per se. She has some negroid blood in her obviously but she's obviously a mix. Which is fair enough to be curious about. It's only "WRONG" if you stereotype her or judge her based on that.

IMDb is replete with pre-teens who, as I like to put it, "forgot to take their medication". Oh, well. Sometimes you just have to not argue with them because they're here to "act big" by personally attacking anyone who diagrees. It's very childish and you can't win as such people will always be willing to out-post you.

Amusing to state, considering your lack of logic.

You may wish to look up something called the "one drop rule". Which is what you're so fervently defending. The concept that if someone has even a little black in them, they are "black".

Do you know where that comes from? White racists and supremacists during slave days who thought of anyone not "pure" white as "tainted". Also it benefitted them in terms of claiming ownership of mixed-race offspring since they could be considered slaves if mixed.

So is that the legacy you wish to keep alive by your dogmatic defense of this polarized notion? LOL...

But that's as far as I will go arguing with you since you obviously are agenda-driven and not driven by logic.

I don't think it really matters what ethnicity she is. I thought the original poster was asking about her in a racist way until I read through the thread. Maybe she is mixed, maybe not. I guess the best way to find out is to write in to the show with a question about genetics and ask for Lisa's family history as an example for how genes are passed from generation to generation. If you write in asking just for her race, she might think you're being racist instead of expressing an interest in her family's background.

I don't agree with the "one drop" rule. Wouldn't that mean that a white person who got a blood transfusion or an organ transplant from a black person was part black?

reply

I don't know, she looks mixed.
And some people are curious, there's nothing wrong with that.
But you can't write in and ask for her genetic background, she won't tell you.
She seems to like her privacy.
But she did mention herself being a person of color on the show, when they were trying out some thing out to find veins in someone's arm.
She she might be african-american and mixed with something else.
Who knows?

Are you calling me a liar?
Do you not see the flour on my apron, and the sweat on my brow?

She could be that mixture by imdb2. She is somewhat light-skinned so she could be mixed with Cape Verdean (think I have that right-from Cape Verde). Her features are very fine so she could have not only the above but Ethiopean also. It is really hard to figure it out nowadays because most people of Black Heritage are mixed with so many ethnicities and races. Blacks can range from caucasian skin colors to the very black of parts of Africa.

reply

Well, I see her black ancestry in her features but I also think she's Latino. I've seen women like her plenty of times before.
