Pink Slime, Bleach Chicken show full of errors.

I couldn't believe it when the guy poured in full concentrated ammonia over the beef or the bleach on the chicken. Working in the industry those amounts aren't even close to accurate. They also do chemical concentration tests on finished meat products to make sure the amount isn't too much.

For a licensed doctor the concept of percentages and dose size is a pretty big deal. When 20mg of a prescription is beneficial and 200mg kills they could at least be accurate in the amount of chemicals use.

Of course people are going to be panicked at a grossly inaccurate display like what he did. They even used household ammonia which is different then the ammonia used in meat processing.

Then they made the mistake of calling the meat in pink slime "discarded meat", where the celebrity chef noted "That's pretty amazing considering the meat we do use." It's not amazing. The same meat he probably used to make sausages is what's in pink slime. It's just 50% or higher fat content which instead of being used as cheap meat is de-fatted and used as lean meat. Then a mist of the ammonia is sprayed on, something which is commonly used on all meat products. This is the beef version of mechanically separated chicken which is used for hot dogs and bologna.

Then they said salt water was injected into chicken breasts to hide the chlorine flavor. Um...no. You couldn't taste the chlorine after cooking anyway. The water is added to plump up the breasts to increase visual sales and add weight.

Earlier in the show they touched on sugar, but really that could have been the whole show. The sugar, caffeine and acid in pop IS PROVEN to be dangerous in doses people consume. I'm laughing at the soccer moms who are outraged at pink slime and then feed their children a large pop and a hot dog.

Seriously, calling this people Doctors is like calling Bill O'Reilly a journalist.

This show is nothing more than fad medicine and tabloid fluff. What do you expect from a derivative of the Oprah empire?

I agree a lot is just fluff but they've had some good info and stories too.

You guys shoud sit in the audience and tell them what you feel!
