Jumped the shark

A decent thriller at first, if you ignore Summer (AnnaSophia Robb) going out of her way to help Terry (Aaron Pierre) as if she was hungry for black cock. But then with around 20-30 minutes to go, out of the blue, it goes off the rails, with cops suddenly switching sides and deciding to help Terry when a minute before they were all for taking him in, or taking him somewhere to get rid of him. And then it just ends, bam, leaving me to say, "Wha???"

the concept of empathy is alien to you, isn't it?

A creative work of only one part can't jump the shark, such as a movie.

It has to be a tv series.

Never heard anyone use this silly phrase about a movie before today.

It is a silly phrase but apt nevertheless. And where is the rule written that it can't pertain to a movie? It may have originated with the Fonz, but I've seen it used a lot since, including movies and even political Faux Pas.
