22,000 year space journey?

googling it appears it would only take 6000years to the nearest habitable exo planets ?

Last year, astronomers raised the possibility that our nearest neighbor, Proxima Centauri, has several potentially habitable exoplanets that could fit the bill. Proxima Centauri is 4.2 light-years from Earth, a distance that would take about 6,300 years to travel using current technology.

maybe they scanned the nearer ones and found they had giant aliens dinosaurs on them or something as Isherwell also seemed to know about the life forms on the planet they landed on so must've had intell on what they'd find there

Potentially habitable means just that - they may be habitable, but then again, maybe not. So it may well have taken them 22,000 years to come across a planet which was actually habitable.
