Ariana Grande and Chris Evans did not realize that they were playing a cruel parody of themselves

They probably thought they were making fun of someone like Paris Hilton. While actually filming a mocking parody of themselves. Because that's how they behave and that's how normal people see them.

It's amazing how the director managed to lure them into this. Well, celebrities aren't very smart, so it's no surprise they didn't get it. I wonder if anyone in their circle told them.

Chris Evan wasn't mocking himself. He was making fun of independents and moderates and people who enjoy typical Hollywood blockbusters.

You're right about Ariana Grande though.

It wasnt SNL level of innocent mocking themselves for laughs. They were showing how horrendous and awful all those celebrities are and those people who worship them. And considering Ariana and Chris actually are those obnoxious privileged celebrities...

They dint understand it. Ariana was just happy to be in a big movie and didnt think too much about her character.
