Lack of subtelty
It felt like Greta Thunberg shouting at me for 2 hours. Are the writers and subtlety complete strangers?
They may as well have got Alec Baldwin in to play the 'fictional' president?

1 Greta is great and she needs no subtelty, the blunter the better.
2 This being a movie and not a speech, needed subtelty like you pointed out.
Not only that, it needed progression, instead it keeps repeating the same joke over and over for 2 hours, again with no subtelty.
3 Evidently the writers and subtelty are complete strangers. Don't expect Bunuel from such a full house Hollywood production.
Subtlety is for a drama, this is a satire...a comedy. Just because you don't like the material, doesn't mean it didn't do what it was supposed to do. My guess that this movie illuminated something that you just didn't want to see and that is why you wanted more subtlety. It hits you with a mallet instead of a feather pillow(which you prefer) and that is the reason it made you uncomfortable; therefore, disliking it.
shareSubtlety has been lacking in Hollywood for over a decade now.
The idea for this movie was fine but the execution was atrocious. Loud, annoying characters, a miscast Leo, and a runtime of what felt like a day at the dmv. Hated it. I expect better from this director
It's a satire. Satire is exaggerated, not subtle, more hyper-real. Also the movie wouldn't have been that entertaining if it were subtle. My God, learn something before you embarrass yourself anymore.
