How did Ganush seemingly partner up w/ a thing like the Llamia? "Sell her soul" perhaps? Maybe 4 every soul He's taken, she has to give hers up as well?

Also, the movie isn't clear if she's the one that cursed the lil boy, but me thinks so., wreaking havoc on the lil boy that made a small error, and ambitious driven people that care about their future/careers. A spell on that cosmic scale would more than likely not come from an amateur, but someone whose purpose is to punish those that she views as bad. And in return Ganush doesn't seem to have paid the Piper? We see this @ the end by what happens., and who obviously ends up there, and its not Ole Sh*tbyrd.

I wish Raimi would've given more background on her. Anyone care to elaborate please? Just for the sake? It would be greatly appreciated. Ty Sam R. 4 your "team" not giving us history on old phlegm-ball Ganush. 

She didn't. She's just a sick old woman.

It is Christine who engages in black magic and devil appeasement, rejecting repentance, throughout the entire film. Her actions get gradually worse and worse. Finally, she flees from her own boyfriend to prevent him from returning the "cursed" button to her. She was willing to sacrifice even him.

So naturally she gets dragged straight to hell.

Christine meets the demon before she meets Ganush. We follow it, together with the buzzy-fly violin music, as it descends to her from the clouds. Christine then makes an "o" with her mouth, symbolizing the moment the demon first enters her. This symbolizes the demon latching on to her ambition, which it will use to corrupt her.

This moment is 72 hours (3 days) before her helldragging. (The incident in the parking garage does not happen for 9 more hours).

At the bank, Mrs. Ganush calls Christine a whore in Hungarian, tries to pull her hair, and gets escorted out by security. We never see her again, alive. She probably dies that afternoon. I imagine she went to Heaven. Her sins were minor; and the provocation extreme.

From then on, when we see Ganush, it is really the demon taking the form of Mrs. Ganush, tormenting Christine, and egging her on towards greater and greater evil. The thing that materializes in Christine's locked car in the parking garage, is the demon.

Even after the parking lot incident, Christine still considers repentance. But the demon whispers in her ear, and sends her to see Rham Jas instead ...

The "cursed button" has nothing to do with the helldragging. When Christine gets dragged to Hell, it is Clay who is holding the "cursed button".

She died because she got hit by a train. She went to hell because she was wicked.

I'm pretty sure Ganush cursed Christine's soul. She never gave the button to her boyfriend; it was still in her possession. Her backing away was from shock.

To answer the OP's question, I think she was just a powerful witch who could summon demons/deities. The real question is if she could do that then how the hell couldn't she save her house? Couldn't she magically get an extension? Receive money from a prosperity deity?

That plot hole is so big John Holmes's penis could fit through it :/
