I really liked both, but I would give a slight edge to Scream 4 .

Agreed. Only seen 5 once though, and haven't seen 4 in years, so this may change once I do a rewatch of all the films.

I could hardly believe it when I found out Scream 4 was that long ago already, 2011 what on earth, I enjoyed both, I'm going to have to rewatch the series again.

Both are horrendous in comparison to the original and the sequel but if I had to choose between the two I would go for the fourth installment because the killings were less hackneyed and the killer has a plausible motive.

5, I guess, though neither were great. After rewatching the first 3 recently those haven’t really aged well, though. Hardly a franchise to give much thought to anymore.
