Think of the most stereotypical chick flick that you can

(the quintessential girl film)...then think "what is the POLAR OPPOSITE of that kind of film?" and you would get Crank 2.

This was a movie that just oozed testosterone and every conceivable cliche for a guy's film, that it is (for me at least) the most hardcore, action packed, comedy laced guy film I've ever seen.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this movie is an artistic masterpiece by any means, but there are films that men like (and women like) that they watch for pure entertainment value. For example, my mom loves Hugh Grant movies and will watch anything that he is in (regardless of how *beep* it is) because she gets great entertainment value from it. She is not watching the movie to have her thoughts provoked or to think deep about what the film has to say about humanity. No, she (and many other women) watch those kinds of films (the chick flicks, if you will) for entertainment value.

For me, this is one of the most entertaining films in the guy category of films. This is not a film that provokes my thoughts, or makes me think of great unanswered questions (except maybe how Chelios can withstand such action and electric blasts), but it is just pure, unadulterated, testosterone fueled, action packed fun.

Is it a great film in the same way that artistic masterpieces like Mulholland Dr. or There Will Be Blood (just two movies off the top of my head, insert any artistic masterpieces if these two don't work with you, I don't want to argue over this) are? No, of course not. Just in the same way that no Julia Roberts, Renee Zellweger or Hugh Grant rom-com, chick flick will ever garner Academy Awards or Palm D'ors.

It was action packed (non-stop), had Asian gangsters, gun fights, car chases, boobs, strip clubs, comedy, video game references, Godzilla references, absurd plot and sequences that make no sense, and a ludicrous sex scene played up for comedic purposes. Some people will hate it because it's not Citizen Kane or How Green Was My Valley or because of all the things that I listed in the previous sentence, but I love it FOR those reasons and I don't care.
