So you've all smartened up and figured out this was a good show right?
Just wanted to clarify. If you think this show isn't well written/acted, you simply lack the palate to know what quality television looks like.

shareIt had some good moments and some not so good moments. At the end of the day, season 1 of GoT was better.
shareNo, nothing else was on so it was like a stouffers frozen dinner on a sad weeknight.
shareHouse of the Dragon - Good casting, good writing and Paddy Considine 7/10
Rings of Power - At least it had some pretty pictures to look at 4/10
Wheel of Time - It had one great scene, shame about the rest of it 3/10
That scene where Viserys makes that final appearance in the throne room to support Rhaenerya's claim is what acting is all about. That one scene should be used in acting class to show what can be done by an actor. I also have to say Emma D'Arcy killed that finale with her metered performance as Rhaenerya. The birthing scene through the burning if her daughter to the coronation was so good.
sharePaddy Considine was consistently brilliant. Even in the little throw-away scene where he reminisces with Daemon and a few others about some amusing boyish prank that Deamon had gotten up to with some parchments many years ago. I don't even know how a writer would think of such a tiny but telling scene where he shows both Visery's humanity as well as his skill as a diplomat.
I agree about Emma D'Arcy's Rhaenyra. Her ( sorry, they're 🙄 ) older Rhaenyra has been every bit as good as Milly Alcock's younger Rhaenyra.
Agree totally about Paddy. And yes, about what you said about Viserys being the diplomat. As for Emma, SHE is amazing as Rhaenerya. And I call her SHE because that is the character she's playing. She'll be nominated, if she is, in the best actress's category that denotes SHE, not they. Millie laid that foundation very well for Emma to take over. All in all the acting even from the kids who played Jace and Luke was also good. Special mention has to go to Ewan Mitchell and his portrayal of Aemond. He is truly scary and his maniacal performance in the dragon pursuit was pure evil.
shareYes Ewan Mitchell should be able to leverage that unforgettable almost medieval face into a long and rewarding career as the "first cab off the rank" villain from central casting.
I've enjoyed it, but I am worried how long a show that refuses to give me a likable character can keep my attention. I have enjoyed the story and the acting for the most part. Its a far cry from the first couple of season of Game of Thrones, but I just needed it to not be a disaster like the last 2 seasons of Game of Thrones. From that perspective the show has been a complete success.
share"I like this show, so anyone who disagrees must be mentally inferior"
Some people could not be into it just...because. Or even the many other reasons one could have for not liking a particular movie/show?
If I had to rank the GoT and HoD seasons
1 - GoT season 4
2 - GoT season 2
3 - GoT season 3
4 - GoT season 1
5 - GoT season 6
6 - GoT season 7
7 - GoT season 5
8 - HoD season 1
9 - GoT season 8
HoD is superior to most of the tripe on television now, but it doesn't really compare to GoT.
its gold plated s#it, i give it 5/10⭐ for effort.
its better than "there's a tempest in me" at least
