without the White Walkers

I wonder if this show will be as interesting. In Game of Thrones, they drove the plot for all but the last three episodes, and we won't have that narrative force here.

“It was very important for Miguel and I to create a show that was not another bunch of white people on the screen, just to put it very bluntly.”

reply

Black Walkers it is then.

I would hope Miguel and his concern would be mainly to have an interesting story that fits at least somewhat within the source material…but whatevs.

reply

Jeez, incestuous dragon riders isn't enough for you?

WW were annoying in GoT, they would be annoying in this too. I for one am glad they're not going to be in HOTD or are they? Hmmmm..... we shall see....

Plus, there was a lot more to the plot in GoT than WW. You might want to rewatch all 8 seasons.

The white walkers sucked. Pointless bunch of griefer edgelords.

Stannis brought more snow with him on his way to Winterfell than the Night King.

reply

LOL'd so hard at this.

reply

No white walkers, but more dragons.

reply

They vauguely referred to it near the end of the episode when he was telling her that she will be named heir.

I don't think the WW woke up yet at this point...maybe not until AC 278...20 years before GoT.

Let’s put it this way, I don’t care about the White Walkers, especially in this but maybe they can do the legend of the Night King properly. In the book, he was hinted as being a Stark, & he was Lord of the Nights Watch. He went out one night & came across a WW woman. “Had her” & was hooked & then did the unthinkable, brought her back with him to the Nights Watch & declared himself king & her his queen, even though the Nights Watch doesn’t have any kings & queens & together they did unspeakable things in the keep & made the fellow brothers of the watch participate.

The legend or beginning of the Nights King or the legend was supposed to be very old, maybe older than the time of HOTD or could be around that time, I don’t know. If they did anything related to the walkers, then I’d like to be surprised to see them do that. You don’t have to dwell on it or keep it as a continuing story arc throughout but show it’s beginnings & subsequent aftermath. Just my thoughts.

Not the WW per se but i'll miss the ambiance of the North. I'm afraid this is gonna be made-up history with dragons.

reply

Because you know, nothing else in a fictional novel is “made up?” Gotcha.
