It's insane that they wait so long to release this on a streaming service. What's the point? Nobody is going to the cinema for this anyway.

i'm still kinda sorting through my impressions, but i'm just a touch disappointed with it at the moment, while still recognizing that there were lots of great things in it.

Yes, i think I know what you mean. It had some fantastic moments but at the same time was lacking something deeper.
sharei think at least part of it for me is that i thought first reformed was just great, a fantastic film that gets better every time i watched it.
& that probably messed with my expectations. i kept waiting for this to go into more extreme, interesting directions, and some of those things did come eventually, but it never quite took off for me the way first reformed did.
& i guess i was a bit surprised that there was so much card playing.
good movie regardless, but one that perplexed me as much as it pleased me.
And you're calling it great.. okay!
