Since When Is Superman Strapped For Cash?

Clark gets laid off at The Daily Planet, and he and Lois worry about having the fluidity to buy the family farm?! THE DUDE MAKES DIAMONDS BY PRESSING COAL!

Sheesh! The fucking stupid CW.

reply

Yea its a huge plot hole because he can rob or steal anything he wants. He should have no worries about being laid off

reply

Really, Millsey? Someone moral enough not to rob and steal is a plot hole? I know you like to troll around claiming everything under the sun is a plot hole to get a rise out of people. And I've risen to that bait often. But this is beyond ridiculous.

reply

Whats the point of having superpowers if you aren't going to abuse them

reply

Because moral people try very hard not to abuse their abilities. Superman has always been portrayed as the most moral of people. That is his essence.

And suggesting someone should be immoral because it would be easier is the height of immorality itself.

I'm done with this discussion. The answer is self-evident and your claim is purposeful delusion or purposeful intent to cause dissension.

reply

My impression was that Clark goes out of his way to live like a normal human so that he can relate to them, which is why he doesn't exploit his powers for his personal benefit.

Using his abilities for financial gain would just further separate him from the rest of mankind, and then it becomes a slippery slope until he loses his humanity.

reply

Except nobody's talking about using his powers to get rich. The point being discussed is that he was in DIRE FINANCIAL STRAITS, and there is no logical reason for someone with his abilities to ever let that happen. ESPECIALLY when he has a family to think about.
