Might be the biggest missed opportunity for a potential top comedy ever...

When I first heard they were making a "mall cop" movie, I thought absolute genius. There is literally volumes of hilarious jokes that could be written around the idea of a "mall cop". Unfortunately, this movie was so unfunny, it really turned out to be a romance movie. What a missed opportunity. The same great type of idea was centered around the movie "step brothers" with so many potential hilarious jokes that could be written around that concept. The difference is that Step Brothers delivered with one of the funniest movies ever made and Mall Cop delivered as one of the biggest missed opportunities ever. The writing is just unfunny and terrible.

mall cop was ok. kevin james was funny on king of queen. he is likable. the film have very good 1980s american rock music soundtrack. it is like spoof of die hard. i enjoys this film.

problems with film is that pahoot character did not work. he have mexican daughter who is fat and annoy and cant acts. the bad guys who skateboard are lame. but everything else fine.

i give it 6/10.

They went a strange way with it for sure. If you wern't gonna make a brilliant edgy comedy (and for sure they sure as hell could have) then they should have made as dumb and stupid as possible. Instead it picked the worst path and tried to be a real movie that took itself too seriously.

should have cast robert z’dar instead

I like Kevin James. I think if you're a fan of his then you'll dig this film. It's a sweet movie, warm hearted and not in your face like many gratuitous comedies of this era.
