How come the grandma change???

I was wondering that in the show Miley Grandmothers are played by Vicki Lawerence and Dolly Parton. However, in the movie it is a different person. I know that change all of the time but why keep the original mom and not the original Grandmother???

Lawerence is from the father's side. Dolly is known as "Aunt Dolly." Movie mother is from the mother's side.

Grandmother in the movie is Miley's maternal grandmother. Dolly is the Godmother.

Memaw played by Vicki Lawrence in the tv show is her father's mother.Dolly is her Godmother.
Grandma in the movie is mom's mother.
