Doesn't ANYONE like this movie?

Scrolling through the threads on here,I swear I'm on the verge of tears. This was an inspiring movie for me,and I hate seeing so many people trashing Miley. She can act, sing, and not to mention she's open and honest about her being a Christian. And her show's hilarious.
And if you don't like it,I'd really appreciate it if you don't post.Please.

Hannah Montana: The Movie is woefully underrated here on the IMDb, even if it is not a great film (shameless plug: read my full review of it on my blog linked below). I credit much of this to the fact that IMDb is populated primarily by men who were either forced to watch the film by their girlfriends/wives/mothers or haven't seen it and are only trashing it to be "cool". I want to tell you something that I hope you consider inspirational: in almost everything, but especially in films, the ONLY thing that matters is what you believe. If you like a film and can effectively defend it, then that is all that matters.

You are right dude. Truth is, many people say they hate Hannah Montana because it's "cool" to hate Hannah Montana. It's as simple as that. If a boy tells his friends he liked this movie, they will probably make fun of him for weeks and call him a "girl". NONSENSE!

I am a guy, I'm 18 years old, and I don't care what other people think of me: I really liked the Hannah Montana movie. =D

And it was a relief to watch a movie that didn't have guns, people dying, car chases... all that crap that fills 90% of movies nowadays.

@OP...you can't really believe that Miley can sing, act and is a devout Christian. I mean I liked the movie because I like feel-good movies...but Miley can't sing, she can't act and that girl sure as hell is putting devout Christians to shame!

I watched it and think its a great movie for kids. I don't like it but it's not aimed at me, so my opinion doesn't matter.

reply

Let me get this straight; You didn't liked the movie, but you thought it was a great movie for kids?

reply

Maybe not great, but surely OK. I didn't like it, because it bored me (too predictable). But it isn't predictable for the youngsters, i could see them wanting to know if the 2 would be together.

And I don't think it's because of Miley (popularity), Hannah Montana show does not have a big influence where i live (that's because they don't show it on our TV and not many kids look foreign channels with no subtitling).. german programs synhronise it, so that's not watchable either.

reply

The movie followed an overused theme of self discovery similar to many of Tom Cruise's movies of the 80's and 90's.

As a parent I liked the movie becuase it was pure, and simple for my kids - it was also a feel good movie without all of the sarcastic undertones.

You rarely see a first rate movie that a 5 year old can enjoy along with the adults that does not hinge on violence and sexual references.

reply

Until the third act, the movie had a "feel-good" atmosphere. Afterwars it just became depressing.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but my cousin loved it, so when she gets it on DVD, I will see it 20 times, at least.

Martin Scorsese IS the best

Just rented it and it brought me to tears at the ending. It was so happy. I dont know why either but I love the Hannah Montana show and I think thats why I loved the movie more. And you gotta admit Miley and Tyra fighting over shoes is priceless. Also since were doing stats here, Im a bi male 22 years old and love the Hannah to the Montana.

reply

I used to love the show, but the movie ended my affection for Hannah. The movie was highly dissapointing and should have never been made.

Many who are regular contributers consider much, much more than the like or dislike of performers. I generally like Ms. Cyrus, but there are times when no actor, no matter how talented can over come the faults in an projects production. Just one example here - the end of this film (what there was of it) was extremely weak. The writer, Daniel Berendsen (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Writer/Producer) and the director, Peter Chelsom are clearly to blame for it's short comings.

I am glad that you found the film so inspiring.

reply

Agreed with you. And I hate both Peter Chelsom and Daniel Berendsen.

Straight sixteen year old, loved it, don't care if everyone else my age thinks it's 'gay' to. Okay, so the ending was kinda lame, but it was a fun movie. Wasn't ten stars, but no way was it 3. I get that some people wouldn't like it, but there's so obviously that dumb thing where people go and rate it 1 star just because it's Hannah Montana.

Never trust an IMDb rating.

The movie was fun until the last twenty minutes or so. But otherwise, I agree; don't always trust an imdb-rating

reply

Eh, you sound to young. There are alot of inspiring films. Alot of them better than this.

So far, her only real talent is singing better than most of us :(. Well thats my opinion, ive heard better that are under appreciated.

reply

Have you seen this movie?

I disagree about her singing voice, though. Not that I'm a hater

reply

Oh yeah, my sister wanted to watch the dvd(sorry but we got a pirated disc for 5 bux....with 9 other films on it :(, not my idea. Good Quality though).

So yeah i saw quite abit of the film. It was a really really really *infitiy bobinity really cliche movie and boring.

Her singing voice still isn't great. Its like a weak version of Shania Twain.

Im not a hater, i jsut dont like her.

reply

I'm glad you didn't like it, though. There are much more inspiring films than this one.

reply

You're pretty stupid.

reply

honestly,I'm not planning to watch hannah montana the movie, but my friend was a huge fan of hannah montana(Miley Cyrus)and he forced me and few of my friends to watch this movie with him.and he was right.the movie was good: plot, acting, songs, etc.plus my favourite singers/band like Taylor Swift,Rascal Flatts were cast in this movie.I read someone's comments here before about the last scene when miley sing the climb, and I thought it was pretty embarrassing and touching.I give it(hannah montana the movie)6.5 out of 10 stars.

reply

What was so embarrasing about that comment? Because they have a different opinion than you?

reply

well,I guess its my fault.maybe I should mention thats my feeling for the scene she sing the climb, not the comment.

reply

No offence, but I guess English isn't your first language? Cause you wrote; "I've read some comments about The Climb and I thought it was really embarrasing and touching".

reply

Why do you think it's embarrasing that some people (as my self) didn't liked "The Climb"? People should ought to have different opinions.

reply

"well,I guess its my fault.maybe I should mention thats my feeling for the scene she sing the climb, not the comment".

no, u should learn some english and learn how 2 convey a sentence be4 u state an opinion.

reply

No offence, but you've could have learned to write better English.

reply

"I read someone's comments here before about the last scene when miley sing the climb, and I thought it was pretty embarrassing and touching".

lorek, ur comment doesn`t make any sense at all. did u think the comment `bout "the climb" was both embarrasing or touchin`? or did u think the comment was embarrasing or the song was touchin`?

reply

Why? Because OP has a different opinion than you?
Grow up.

you know, if you've noticed, that post was made several years ago. but if you've read my other thread, i actually apologize for being hostile and snappy towards people who liked the movie. so yeah, i've realized that it was not needed, so i'm sorry for it.

btw, i loved hannah montana, but this movie destroyed everything that i loved about hannah montana. therefore i've been a jerk towards people, but i regret it.
