Hoedown throwdown
Just finished watching this movie with my 8 year old daughter and I loved hoedown throwdown. What a catchy song! Loved it. It was a cute movie. No not oscar worthy but cute. She liked it. Travis was easy on the eyes too!

shareI agree that "Hoedown Throwdown" is a extremly cathcy song and the best song of the movie. I agree that the movie was cute, but would have been so much better if "The Climb" was left out (Miley's big solo number).
share@migu...did you want "The Climb" left out because Miley can't really sing? She's really a horrible singer. However, I agree, Hoedown Throwdown was VERY catchy.

I don't hate Miley. Her voice actually suits certain songs, but not "The Climb". Her voice doesn't fit the song, even in the studio version. That's one of the reasons I have problems to understand that it was the favorite moment of the movie for so many people - in spite of that it was a touching moment. But even so, her voice sounds absolutely terrible when she sings; "It's all about, it's all the climb" and reaches the high notes.
And even so, I thought that song was too serious for the movie - or for the Hannah Montana concept, for that matter. Why should a song about not loosing faith in your dreams be so sad?
I like "The Climb". And I don't think it would sound better if someone like Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston sang it, because then it wouldn't sound genuine. Sure they would make it sound perfect, but they'd also make it sound artificial. Miley's version sounds like a real person.
And apparently other people agree since they made that song the 21st most popular of the year. That's the highest song Miley ever had on Billboard's Year-end charts.

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
Yup, that's The Climb.
shareI hope you get this message Migu-d...you are a douche...a true absolute douche...you insult people because they differ in your opinion...yes...yes...yes I insult you as well...because of your insulting...douche...the end

Constructive as always. What's next, you'll wish death on her and her family, or are those comments reserved just for me?

Nah, I don't think it is. You're a fighter and a sick man. You'll be using those words against others in no time at all.

Actually, heh, you are threatening (through wishing death) others. You wished death on not only me but my family, who has done not even spoken to you, as well.
So how long, migu-d? How long before you start targetting others?

No, but you threatened people that didn't even use IMDb. You are a very disturbed little boy.

That doesn't count. We were talking about users on IMDb. And you are disturbed as well.
shareNo, I'm not disturbed. Not like you. You're a disgrace.

Wrong.
You want me to be worse than you, but I'm not really finding many people that are. After what you said it makes me question how much evil there is inside.

P.S. If you want to to learn the Hoedown Throwdown, check out this video. It shows Miley and Mandy learning it for the first time:

The best part is that in the Audio Commentary, the director Peter Chelsom says that Miley sings the song perfectly everytime. Yeah right, he has to check his ears.
sharemigu-d youre like the only one that thinks "the climb" is a bad song because I love that song. Its so inspiring, and the last part was the best part of the movie, I rewind it over and over again LOL. I dont think I wanna return the dvd to Netflix the movie is that good to me, but yeah Hoedown throwdown is like the 2nd best song of the movie, especially the last part when they all dance during the credits.
shareNo offence, but how old are you? And why are you using that expression litteraly? I don't blame you for liking "The Climb", but I don't like that use the expression that I'm the only one who think it's a bad song, cause I'm not the only one.
The last part of the movie was the worst part and I hate Peter Chelsom (the director) for that. Sorry.
"The Climb" is a song that has good lyrics and good message, but totally the wrong voice. Her voice isn't nearly mature enough to be able to perform that song as well as it deserves to be.

It's actually really easy and really fun.
I just love it when people come on a board like this and say "so and so" can't sing. I highly doubt any of those saying that have one lick of musical ability. I happen to have musical ability and I thought Miley did a great job singing that song.
shareSo that's what you think, huh...?
Okay, I won't start a fight with you. You have the right to have your opinion, but at least I think it sounds absolutely horrible when she hits the high notes on that song - which is one of the reasons that I have a hard time to believe that people thought that was the best part of the movie - to listen to her painful high notes.
And no, I'm not a Miley hater. Just so you know
It doesn't matter whether or not they can sing. Miley Cyrus is paid to sing, she should be good at it. Someone saying she can't even though they can't doesn't mean anything. Just because they can't sing doesn't mean they don't know what sounds good and what doesn't.
shareFor the record, I have been involved in music my entire life. I started with choir in elementary school and was involved in instrumental music from late elementary school all the way through my junior year of college. I still play to this day.
My wife is a classically trained pianist and singer. She has done several local musicals and has competed in several singing and piano competitions. She and I performed the first dance song at my sister's wedding.
We both think Miley has a terribly immature voice and (in case you couldn't tell) we both have a musical background. Like I said, the song is good lyrically and has a great message, but just the wrong voice.
Yup. Miley's vocals has NEVER sounded worse than on that song, that's why I have problems to understand why people can even stand listening to it. But Peter Chelsom and the songwriter of The Climg are big retards.
sharei am amazed at how great this song is > the only reason for me coming to this board is coz of this song > and sure enuff there is a thread about it > extremely catchy beats with some cool lyrics > other than that i abolutely hated this movie, even though i saw it for free on star movies > i do like the hanna montana show on disney though > usually watch it while baby-sitting my nephew & niece > sure its silly > but atleast it does have a couple of laughs > esp the characters lily & oliver > dunno why they changed the movie soo much from the show > using some show features + giving show characters more time would have been a much better experience than this bag of crap > and lucas till is cute > thats all > he cant act either
i hate signatures !!
Which song do you mean? Hoedown throwdown or The Climb?
shareThe lyrics and the message are the only positive thing about "The Climb". The melody itself is dreadful, if not awful and like you said, Miley's voice doesn't fit the song and just make it worse.
shareIt's not terrible but her voice still hasn't completely matured. I feel with time she will get better, plus I don't mind listening to the song, not nearly as bad as you're making it out.
Jack Sparrow: We are very much alike, you and I, I and you... us.
No, perhaps it isnt a bad song, but I still dont like it
shareI have a request for ya; Go and listen to some real music and not a crappy Miley ballad that sounds worse than hell!
shareThe post may be old as time itself, but wow. You were almost the same back then too!
Well, the difference being you didn't bother covering it up.

Funny how it's the cheesiest dance and yet the catchiest song in the movie! I did enjoy the clips of the rest of the cast (and crew?) attempting the dance moves that ran during the credits.
