Spoiler Question about the bottle
How did he figure out the lab guy is the one who threw the bottle at their car?

shareI wondered the same thing.
shareI think he made a guess because of the medical examiner's snarky attitude about the sheriff's inability to find the killer.
shareI think it was thrown in to redeem the cop in a sense. He had been taking shit the whole movie for his lackluster police work, then showed some sort of true "cop instincts" by nailing the guy on the spot.
Having said that, I don't really buy it. Virtually everyone in town was snarky or otherwise disrespectful to the police department, so there wasn't really enough there for him to make that assumption. Unless there was more history between the cop and the medical examiner that wasn't shown in the film, I thought it was a pretty huge leap.
What I also didn't get was what PJ said to Detective Julia on the phone. He mentioned something about a knitting tool that triggered Julia to get in her car and go to wolfman Paul's house where she assisted John. I didn't get what triggered her.
shareIf I remember correctly, that was a stitching tool often used in taxidermy. On the phone, PJ told the detective he had found it in with the rest of his recently returned belongings, but that the tool itself was not his, and in fact he was merely attempting to politely return it to the police. The detective then quickly realized what had been going on, now suddenly tipped off to the "wolfman's" true identity.
