Most Scandy peeps I know are quite fond of the viking warrior trope. Being Norwegian, and having lived in Norway all my life, I know quite a few. That said, people who embrace it heart and soul, who seek to emulate them in some way but only know them as "VIKING! WARRIOR! SMASH!", are either football hooligans, neo-nazis, or both. And cringe as hell.

it makes sense. hitler tried to go back to German "mythology"/ the vikings mythology would fit well in with Neo fascist and right wingers in Norway

I mean its overdone and kinda like any culture. its like asking germans if they love the barbarian stereotype they'd be like "umm meh"
