People love the movie Grease, the sequel not so
Much .. this series is pitiful though
You can bet how this will go with all the woke idiot writing in Hollyweird:
- lots of F-bombs and cussing that was unheard of among teens in the 1950s
- plenty of sex and nudity
- many gay-swapped or trans-swapped characters
- all the main ones will be black and smarter/cooler than everyone else, despite schools being segregated in the 1950s
- almost no white characters except the antagonists
- fully diverse school (despite segregation)
- a poor job of adapting 2020s fashions into 1950s styles
- bad singers
- horrendously bad writing
But then again, the first film kinda sucked and was a crappy 1970s interpretation of the 1950s, so perhaps it would be difficult to tell which interpretation was worse.
Already has bad singers and writing.
shareGee, they're ahead of the woke game! lol!
shareWell I am sure they are good. I just don't like the style.
shareTo be honest, I never really liked 1950s fashions. A lot of it is ugly or looks ridiculous to me. I noticed in recent years (particularly after the mid-2010s) they started introducing smoother, streamlined versions of the 50s/60s clothing silhouette for women, but without the bullet bras, and poofy skirts were limited to formal wear.
It doesn't help that there's a niche version of mid-20th century fashion called "Rockabilly," where a few people in the current era deliberately wear 40s/50s styles, but with exaggerated hairstyles/clothing fashions, and they stick 2010s leggings into as many of the women's outfits as they can, and some people make the mistake of thinking that's how women really dressed "back in the day," when that isn't even close!
My mom (who actually was there in the 50s as a child) observed that women rarely wore pants in the 50s, save for at home or in specific settings. Otherwise, nearly all wore skirts.
Brown leads so all criticism can be dismissed as “rrrrrrrraaaacisms!”.
shareI should of watched this. it sounds fantastic.
