What a shame....
First one out is shit. This Superman gets his ass handed to him all the time.
Worse though was the story. Disjointed and clumsy. 2/10

it was a little disappointing. not bad for watching for free but i thought it'd be better.
shareDidn't bother seeing it. Lobo looks like the best part. Hated the design for Parasite from what I saw in stills.
shareIt was definitely a letdown in many ways, but I found some things enjoyable. I know we've seen Superman origin stories a hundred times before, but I kind of like how this one took its time and didn't rush into things. I also thought Lobo and Martian Manhunter were done very well.
But it was still pretty underwhelming. Superman got his ass handed to him constantly, even for a rookie. Hell, he didn't even really save the day at the end when you think about it. I also didn't care for some of the voices, mainly Lex Luthor. Also, some of the more serious and topical themes were a little too heavy handed and on the nose. But I kind of liked how the three heroes (term used loosely in Lobo's case) are aliens from three alternate races and each have different reactions to the "xenophobic" humans who fear them.
But the main problem with this movie was Parasite. He's one of my favorite Superman villains, so I was excited to see him as the main antagonist. But that design flat out sucked. An overly complicated gargantuan creature resembling the 1998 American Godzilla is a terrible idea for this character in my opinion. And it annoyed me even more that he didn't ever resemble his comic book counterpart even once, when they had plenty of opportunities to do that. But oh well, I'm still glad I saw it and at least it didn't bore me.
