The Narrator

OK, maybe it's just that I was a huge fanatic of this show when it was on, but does anyone else remember MTV's "Oddities"? They had a show based on an absolutely brilliant comic called "The Maxx" that ran for a period covering the first series of comics. In that show there's a character that acts as sort of the main antagonist called "Mr. Gone"...the narrator of this show reminds me SO hard core of his voice. Here:

The first is the first episode, Gone does the opening narration ("most of us inhabit at least two worlds..."), and the second is a scene of dialogue between him and ol' Br'er Lapin (Maxx). First time I watched 1000 Ways, I actually thought it WAS the same guy until I looked him up and found out he's been dead for some time. Just couldn't get the comparison out of my head, the voice's are dead ringer's, did anyone else notice this, or am I just high or something?
