I love J.P and am a huge Supernatural fan and boy, that pilot episode was messy.
So many different tones thrown in and none of them really landed with me.
This review and the Variety one are pretty spot on about the many flaws so far.
I’ll continue to watch but I really hope they work out which direction they are going to go in soon or this won’t last a season despite the big numbers it pulled and my guess is it certainly won’t add any extra viewers other than the loyal Supernatural fandom if it doesn’t get more substantive.
I watched Supernatural from the beginning in 2005. I started watching this because of Jared Padalecki. I couldn’t get through the 1st half hour. What a waste of good talent!
