I might have missed it but do they explain what causes people to age in this particular secluded area of the beach?

Wrong...it was explained from one of the previous test subjects diary that they found. Those rocks surrounding the beach were actually a type of very old minerals that affected their cells by some sort of magnification.

Jesus nobody on this board pays attention during movies apparently...
