Why do the villains feel generic and overall weak?

-MODOK reduced to a pile of useless rubble along with the horrible CGI rendered face. Seriously, if you look at the credits for post-credit scene you'll see a shit ton of artists ranging from 2D/3D/CG/VFX/etc. (with a whole lotta' GRIP.) and the best they can do is stretch a guys face then CGI shine it? At least make him more menacing.

-Kang the Loser Exile seemed to be the easiest of Kang's to defeat because he felt so weak compared to other past supervillains or variants, yet the reason he was exiled was because he was too dangerous...

The empire he builds is also generic as the force lacks any intelligence other than basic, like those droids in the Trade Federation (Star Wars). Don't forget he let Janet take advantage of him twice with the robot escorts.

His tech is suppose to be 31st century, far beyond Stark Industries and Doctor Doom yet loses a human avenger... AND TRIBES!

Overall a watch once and move on movie that is soso.

I thought MODOK was funny and the ropey CGI for his face just added to the humour of it. He was never my favourite villain in the comics so I’m okay with him being a silly throwaway joke for this film.

With Kang well he definitely underestimated his foe and paid the price for it but he would have killed Scott if Hope hadn’t come back. I must admit I would have preferred an ending where they just barely escape the Quantum realm with their lives rather than they ‘kill’ Kang.

Overall the film worked for me and got me excited for the next Avengers films so job well done.

What'd you think of Cassie? I thought she was annoying since she wanted to be the hero of this movie and almost got Scott killed on numerous occasions.

Agreed, it's why I think the film really needed another script rewrite, it had plenty I liked and I think the good outweighed the bad by quite a bit but it is frustrating how much better the film could have been, this could've been Ant-Man's 'Ragnarok' or 'Civil War' if they'd worked on the script a bit more.

Cassie was a big problem for me, just because your dad and his girlfriend are superheroes doesn't mean you should become one as well. She should have just been captured by Kang and that should have been her role in the film but nah gotta have everyone kick some ass at some point.

This movie made me miss kid Cassie. Her & her dad had possibly my favorite relationship in the MCU.

And the kid actress was honestly wonderful in the role.

The villain has to be weak enough for fucking ant-man to defeat or it wouldnt be marvel.

Well, the force was likely mechanical, so maybe Kang sucks at programming?
