They Ruined Modok
He 1 of fiercest foez in comic lore and they made him in2 total dope
shareModok has been adapted into the MCU? When?
shareIn this movie.
shareI didn't even know he was in this movie.
shareHe is, and it's quite clever how they bring him in. Personally, I don't think he was "ruined" at all. He's one of the highlights of the film.
shareAgreed. He was used perfectly.
shareNope pics of MODOK in this movie is used the same way when youtubers highlight the She Hulk Twerking scene whenever they claim marvel has jumped the shark. Everything garbage about this movie i contribute to MODOK.
shareShould have saved him for Armor Wars.
shareNot a dope. A dick. They literally called him a dick and he agreed.
I'm not into censorship, but when I heard that, knowing three year olds were in the theater, I cringed.
But in this context dick means asshole and not penis. And it's not like this is the first time for that kind of humor in an MCU film, Flash Thompson called Peter Parker "Penis Parker" over a PA system in "Spider-man: Homecoming".
shareNever watched a spider man film after spider man 3.
Either way, it's was a reaction to young kids being there. That's actually on the parents more than the movie.
I mean every MCU film is PG-13 so kids as young as 3 shouldn't watch them. Then again most 3 year olds I know can't stand watching any movie for very long. Hell, both The Eternals and Iron Man 1 had a sex scene in them.
shareIt's a fair point. I'm usually shocked at some of the movies parents drag their kids into. We had young kids watching Saw in the same theater because the parents probably couldn't find a babysitter. Then again, my Mom took me to see Silence of the lambs when I was 8. She still laughs at how she shouldn't have done that.
shareWhen I went to see Venom Let there be Carnage, there was a couple that brought their young kids to it. One of them was only 5 or 6 years old.
shareWas MODOK really that beloved a character? I'm genuinely surprised at the reaction from people over his portrayal. I mean, it's just MODOK, there are other higher-tier villains I was more disappointed with like Ultron, Loki, and Kang.
shareI liked MODOK in comics. He was an agent of an evil organization called AIM who was forced against his will to be in an experiment. Said experiment made him powerful and he took over AIM.
In this he's just the villain from the first Ant Man movie turned into Kang's lackey. Though in the 90s Iron Man cartoon he's just Mandarin's lackey so I guess that might have been inspiration for this movie.
I don't think a live action adaptation would work if they tried sticking true to the origin of Modok. To be fair, he's been clowned in more modern comic runs, and the entire tv series was mocking him. I think this movie used him perfectly.
shareThey turned Modok into complete trash...lol!!
shareI saw the trailer, it did look incredibly stupid and awful CGI.
