If you pass the end-credits there’s an additional scene where Janice asks Grieff for advice. She still has fresh scars on her face. I assume she knows of Grieff from the journalist and she has traveled to America to meet w him (America and London being a plot problem from the get-go). My questions:
1) aren’t they being recorded?
2) WHAT husband?
I’d thought of #1, and thought that was rather silly. But I hadn’t thought about the fact that she has a husband. Remember the boy asked her if she was married and she kind of snapped at him when she said “no”. So maybe she technically has a husband, but they’re separated, and it’s ugly. Maybe he’s holding something over her, something like that?
I’m glad you asked about the husband, I hadn’t given much thought to it, but I think her reaction to the question about whether she was married was a big deal.
I agree. And of course it’s what’s setting up season 2.
shareLike everything else in this show, you can't look for it to make sense. Everything about this show is outrageous and completely implausible. That's what makes it so good IMO. You can't take it seriously. I think it's much more of a black comedy than a "crime drama."
It's possible that not every one of Grieff's visits are recorded. Certainly the one from his father-in-law was but that might have been the exception. We have no way of knowing.
My fingers are crossed for a season 2 - I thought this show was fantastic.
