Before you kill ryan, it's shows flashbacks of ur fake past. When it comes to the planecrash, it shows that u recieved a present while on the plane which contained a pistol and a note.
There was writing on the note but it was shown in a split second, i didn't get to see it. Does anynone have a screenshot of this?
I don't have one at the moment, but I do know that it says something about missing Jack and wishing him well from his 'parents'.

and then a bunch of stuff I can't read, but it is later revealed that the rest of the note has geographic coordinates on it; that is where Jack is to hijack the plane so that it comes down near the lighthouse.
