Hmmm. Very interesting but not surprising.

Curious to hear what other people think. I wonder though, if Bakrim had been attractive or appealing, would his female students who were approached by him have acquiesced to his advances? I do find it troubling that the woman who was raped in his home stayed in his residence that same evening, AFTER the attack/rape. In no way is rape excusable but you'd think she would have bolted.

Agreed. It wasn't a very shocking documentary. Glad to have learned of the story, but as you said "not surprising."

To anyone looking for documentaries regarding similar subject matter, I would recommend Holy Hell or My Scientology Movie. In Holy Hell there are a TON of parallels to Bikram, but the cult leader does way worse and more creative things to his followers. It also allows for more psychological insight to the victims, which was lacking in the Bikram movie.

My Scientology Movie is one of the most interesting docs I have ever seen because it is in an unusual format. Basically, with nothing new to report on Scientology, Louie Theroux agitates practitioners into coming to him.
