Zendaya > Emma Stone & Kristen Dunst

Her character is truly the definite and most compelling love interest in all the Spider-Man movies. She avoids the typical damsel in distress tropes of the previous films without falling into “gurl power” nonsense and has the best chemistry with Peter as well as being the most grounded and realistic character. Her portrayal by Zendaya is also miles better than efforts by Emma Stone and Kristen Dunst.

reply

She was a lame woke comic relief character in Homecoming.

Then without any character development is suddenly a love interest to Peter out of nowhere in Far From Home.

Then she’s relegated back to making dumb jokes again in No Way Home and is given nothing to do except fall from a high place (we’ve seen this 200 times already) and then forget who Peter is.

If you were really impressed by this then you must be like 12 years old or borderline mentally challenged.

Elso....I agree with much of what you say here. My only issue with your post is the use of the word “tropes”. Overused on these boards, and annoying. Everything else....I tend to agree with. Zendaya just has more screen presence, more to do in the story.....and more likability than her predecessors.

Done.

reply

Zendaya? Yuck!

Also are you a dude because this is looking like a simp alert.

reply

Zendaya is decent as an actress, but there seems to be media manipulation to get audiences to believe she is the “best actress of her generation”

reply

She is the most important actress of our times but the best actress of her generation is Florence Pugh.

reply

Important?

reply

Yes, her rise in Hollywood and continuing success is incredibly important as it helps bring about the much needed diversity and representation among prominent actresses and the fact that she is being recognized at such a young age is a very good sing. Zendaya is at the forefront of the move towards a more inclusive and diverse film industry. Here is hoping for her ongoing success.

reply

The industry has been diverse for years. Where have you been?

reply

I agree it is incredibly important - as a cautionary tale of what happens when ideology is more important than acting skills.

reply

She is a total bastardisation of the character wtf are you talking about?

reply

She's fine as a character they made her smart cause it's more approciated to be as equal to male characters as possible it's just my opinion that Kirsten Dunst and Emma Stone didn't get their chance to show off their potential as characters and they were only there as possible love interests. In terms of acting it's Emma Stone>>>>>>>>>>Kirsten Dunst>>>>Zendaya. Not saying she's bad at at acting she's just overrated a little.

reply

Zendumdum is so great, that her character was written out at the end of No Way Home.

reply

Her acting has improved with each film in the series. She did a good job here.

reply

Indeed, she is really getting better over time.
