I never wanted this and even at the time of the originals the films were fun but in a really bad way. Now watching these two guys still behaving that way is just pathetic. That alone would put me off.

Given the reports of the Wokeness just ensures I will never watch it.

Side note - I am not so sure that even the Woke ones watch these films that are marketed to them. Look at Woke failures such as Terminator Dark Fade, Charlies Angels reboot and others. The irony is Woke people don't seem like easy going movie watchers to me.

Even the Woke teen show especially on the CW do really bad rating wise. Hollywood needs a serious overhaul and go back to just making entertainment. Such a simple brief yet they have screwed it up. Catering to people who won't watch your product while alienating those who might is bad business.

It's definitely a real phenomenon, though I'd agree that not every example cited is a legitimate example.

But casting females as characters that have traditionally been male, shoehorning in minorities in period pieces where their presence is anachronistic, Kathleen Kennedy and all her staff wearing shirts that say "The Force is Female". . . In many cases there should be no real doubt that these kinds of decisions are not merely creative decisions, because the filmmakers thought it would make for a good story, they are political decisions and those who made them are intending to send a message. Some of them have even admitted it (i.e. Rian Johnson).

Peppermint is a good example of a film that was made recently with a female lead that I felt was NOT woke. The recent Little Women adaptation was also not woke and was a damn good movie in fact. The Gentlemen and Hustlers both featured minorities in big roles and I didn't think either of those had a woke vibe either.

So it's not merely the presence of women or minorities that make a film woke.

But I definitely got strong social-justicey, send-a-message vibes from Get Out, Bombshell, the Ghostbusters remake, Knives Out, Terminator: Dark Fate, The Last Jedi, The Shape of Water and Hidden Figures.

Hidden Figures I'm a bit loathe to actually put on the list because it's a good movie and based on an important true story, but the writers fabricated racial tension and inflammatory events that didn't exist in real life.

Yeah, I don't really have a problem with using film as a medium to impart a message, but in world of wokery I tend to find the messages imparted to be pretty vile. It usually comes down to:

White people are bad.
Men are bad.
America is bad.
Tradition is bad.

And I'm not down with ANY of that shit.

Guys, I'm trying to support the movie industry financial during these "trying times", but, seriously, this film was NOT worth the $21 I blew online to watch it.

This makes me REALLY hesitant to do that again, going forward. I will be much more cautious, wait for reviews to shake down, and THEN decide what to watch.

If this is all they can do, let the movie system tank.

I mostly watch films from the 33's to 60's, I can't do most films from the 2010-2020. And as far as TV shows, forget it, flooded with Wokeness. I am ok with that the older films have such a higher quality. Writing, acting, everything really is just better.

Happy to see Hollywood go bust.
