Forgot that this show aired... How is it?
Didn't pick it up yet but how is it? Worth watching?

shareYes it is pretty fun and entertaining so far.
shareIt took me a couple tries to get through the first half of the first episode, but once that part was out of the way it got a lot better. I thoroughly enjoyed the last 1/3 of the first episode, and all of the second one.
I haven't found all of the Disney+ Marvel shows to be all that engaging, but this one has been a nice surprise.
Some pretty cringe-worthy parts, but overall not bad. It's colorful and upbeat, and the characters are likable enough so far.
shareWhat cringe parts are you referring to? When she dresses up as Captain Marvel?
shareYOU ARE THE ONE "CRINGING"...IT IMPLIES YOU ARE A SENSITIVE BRUISE OF A PERSON.
shareGave the first episode a try based on the 3 posts above. Overall I enjoy the background hand drawn animated aesthetics, some of the music harks back to the 80's vibe (I enjoy The Weekend), and the directing/filming style the director was going with the show. Almost feels like I am watching Stranger Things (neon, bright colors/contrast) but without the horror aspects and none of the adults playing any real major role. I am also noticing some JJ Abrams lens flare going on in some instances.
Characters are full of energy as you would expect from a kids show with it being less mature than Hawkeye but similar in maturity to say Power Rangers. The actress that plays Kamala has varying degree of attractiveness depending on the camera angle. At times she looks chubby, other times she looks cute, could also be the hairstyle. The school she attends is also super Liberal with the full diversity/inclusion aspect while retaining the American slice of life.
Not really my cup of tea per se but I have to say it was decently enjoyable as the show progressed. There are numerous Pakistani inside jokes and references I didn't get so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. Still feels very American culture to the core.
I'm feeling a 6.4-6.6 towards it. Not as bad as the ratings on IMDB portray it as to be. Hopefully things pick up in Ep 2 and beyond.
So far, I like it a lot! Mainly, I like the main kid a whole lot, she's totally charming and likable, and I've really started to care about what happens to her. She's a nice kid, nerdy enough that former nerdy kids like me can identify with her, but open and funny enough to make a great protagonist. And now that shit's getting real, I'm getting really drawn in and hope she can cope with all this!
I've got to hand it to the Marvel casting office, once again they've taken a cheesy superhero comic book that was probably as badly written as all comic books... and they've found someone who can make it all come alive. They've done that time and again, from finding the perfectly mouthy Tony Stark to the perfectly likable Ms. Marvel, they're usually absolutely spot-on.
One the one to ten scale I rate it eight. I liked it!!!
shareI like it, but it's just a pretty solid show though. It's not a must watch, IMO.
shareYou've probably already watched it, but I just did and I don't care for it. It seems to be targeted at kids, but it's too bland imo to capture the attention of any kids I know. It has parts that are almost good, but...no, definitely not for me and definitely don't recommend.
