The acting

I didn't see the entire movie, BUT, I'm glad I didn't. The shaky camera was fine and the main female protagonist was excellent... but... there's a point where you "have" to allow free license of imagination.
Point being, her over acting and "jittery" pantomime was more "frightening inducing" than her situation. She, Jennifer Carpenter, would be great in a Schwarzenegger movie.

I think her acting was pretty damn realistic. Hell, everyone's was. If anything, they were LIGHT on the freaking. If I were in the same situation, I Would be freaking out WAY more than the people in the movie.

My response:

Yeah, I noticed the "jittery pantomime" and thought it was a bad acting decision because it snapped me out of the movie's spell and drew my attention to it. I think a better actress would not have had to go to such extremes in order to "sell" the fact that her character was absolutely terrified. However, the movie overall was so effective that I just let it slide.

I thought she did great. Her performance was intense and very realistic. Just imagine how you'd be in that situation...Calm as a cucumber? I think not.

What bothered me was the acting before everyone went mad.

American Angela didn't act like a professional reporter, flirting with the firemen and grinning silently at the camera when she overheard their sex jokes.

She and the cameraman even sounded like they're in a relationship and it was all amateurish... Spanish Angela sounds more realistically like the cameraman's superior.
