Quarantine is the American remake of the very good Spanish horrorfilm [REC] (2007).

Television Journalist Angela Vidal and her cameraman are assigned to spend the night shift with a LA fire station. When an urgent call comes in they head to the apartment building. In the building they also stumble upon a police officer who is there because of terrifying screams in on of the apartments. What seemed like like a normal routine ends up to be a nightmare...

The acting is pretty decent. Jennifer Carpenter does a good job as the TV reporter but Jay Hernandez (Hostel) is arguably the best as fireman Jake. The vibe of the movie is pretty eerie, partly because of the very good setting in the old apartment building.

It's a shame that almost everything in this movie is literally copied from the Spanish original movie. Where most remakes pretty much make it a different movie, this one plainly copies everything. So if you already watched [REC] you'll likely to be disapointed by this movie. Though i think this was a decent movie, the director shouldn't get any credits as he just copied everything from the original...
