I am currently finding relevant things to use for my Film Studies coursework assignment. Part of my assignment is to find audience reaction to the film Quarantine; so my question to is a simple one.
What are your thoughts on this film in general and it in comparison to the original film [REC]?
Just a hastily made remake that wasn't needed. Sadly I can't find the original on Blu ray in America so I had to buy this.
shareI personally don't like subtitles which were in Rec. Therefore I enjoyed Quarantine much more.
I know that I am stupid but when I look around me I feel a lot better.
I watched this one cos i couldn't find the original one. And then i watched rec 2 which was really good n found the rec 1 and that's really no different with the US remake so the intension was hard to feel.

It's cheaper too copy something than come up with an original idea and unfortunately, some people are so stupid that they won't read subtitles. Yes, only idiots won't watch a film because of subtitles.
The remake was awful mainly because of terrible characters, awful acting, baffling decisions and the camera quality. Found footage should never look like a movie, it should look like a documentation of events. The remake had studio lighting instead of what rec did which was all lite from the lights in the real, not set, building they filmed in.

It was made simply to quickly and with minimum effort, try to cash in on the success of the Spanish original, with North American audiences. Much of this film was virtually a direct copy. What's more, it worked!🐭
